When the two met in the summer of 2005, Giha was an up-and-coming producer in the Southwest Florida area, and Klynn was a creative writer from Brooklyn who had just recently decided to turn on the mic.
Giha was born in Queens, raised in Orlando, and has resided in Naples now for 6 years. He has been producing, and songwriting, for almost four years. Giha's production style has been compared to the sounds of Kanye West, Just Blaze, and 9th Wonder, with obvious differences that set himself apart. He tends to rely heavily on samples because, he says, "their instruments never go out of style". Because of his production style, he had been hard pressed finding acts in his area whose vocals and artistic capabilities could compare. That is until he teamed up with James Klynn...
James Klynn was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and that is where his pulls most of his inspiration from. He started rapping in the Spring of 2005 and from his flow, word play, and delivery, you would think he has been doing it all of his life. He prides himself on the fact that he does not talk about things he does not have or does not do. His creativity and artistic vision and are unparalleled.
Giha n Klynn recorded about 20 sub-par songs that received a decent following before Giha moved back to Orlando in the late summer of 2006. When Giha returned in January, it seemed as if both artist had matured creatively to new levels. They jumped into the studio once again, discovered a few more like-minded artists to collaborate with and went to work on a new high standard album. Along with the new album, Giha n Klynn took on the title The 2nd Round Draft Picks, inspired by all star athletes such as Gilbert Arenas who where slept on.
